2) Donald Trump’s signature tag line is “You’re Fired.”

The primary flaw in the logic of Trump as a successful businessman in the reality TV show “The Apprentice” is that truly successful businessmen do not need to do reality TV shows nor have the time. Could anyone imagine Elon Musk, Warren Buffett, Mark Zuckerberg, Michael Bloomberg, Bill Gates or Larry Ellison hosting something on television with the tag line, “You’re fired.” Trump filed for bankruptcy protection six times in 1991, 1992, 2004 and 2009. Donald Trump needed the $400 million in income from “The Apprentice” beginning in 2004 to stay afloat.

Secondly, “You’re fired,” is not something to brag about within a successful business. Obviously a fact of life and sometimes necessary but handled quietly and with dignity in a professional and reputable firm. In satisfaction of an owner/manager’s ego is a sure recipe for a lack of loyalty.

The chaos in the Trump White House was emblematic of his television persona.

Note: Not to disparage Barbara Corcoran, Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Kevin Harrington, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, Kevin O’Leary and Chris Sacca of “Shark Tank”. The premise of “Shark Tank” hews closer to reality with the age old questions, whether to invest or not, whether to sell or not and for how much.
